Rich easily turned aside all challengers for the 1A girls title this spring. As of this moment, it appears likely to be another school's turn next spring.
The driver's seat at this stage in the game (admittedly a very early stage in the game) appears to belong to Monticello. As of this moment, 2013 is shaping up as a very good year for track and field in a small little town tucked away in the southeast corner of the state. Wayne is the closest challenger based on rankings of returning athletes from this year, with schools like Panguitch, Rich, and Bryce Valley in more distant pursuit.
As usual, if you're a fan of 1A track and field in Utah, you'll want to be paying attention early in the season to meets contested in the southern part of the state. This would appear to be where the strength lies.
