What was your most memorable race/throw/jump/vault/moment?
My most memorable race was state cross country this year. It was amazing to go one and two with Maggie and then to watch our other teammates race hard. We ended up winning the team title, that was the cherry on top of an amazing season.
Who would you consider your biggest competition over your four years?
My biggest competition was always changing, but I believe the biggest competitor in our sport is time. Setting a new PR is honestly the greatest feeling.
What was your greatest accomplishment?
My greatest accomplishment was going to NXN. I loved my Southwest team because I was surrounded by the coolest and most driven people and had an experience of a life time.
If you could do it all over again what would you change about your running career in high school?
Honestly nothing. My high school career has been nothing short of a dream come true
What were the most difficult obstacles you had to overcome?
Mental strength is a game changer in this sport, and that was the biggest obstacle for me. Once I learned how to believe in myself that's when things started coming together.
What will you miss the most?
The thing I am going to miss the most is my track team. It has been so fun to watch each of the girls progress and get better throughout this season and I am going to miss them all like crazy.
What advice would you give to younger athletes?
Race with your heart not your head. This is huge because once you start racing with your heart so many great things can happen!
What influence has your coach had with respect to your performance and overall life goals?
All of my coaches in high school have impacted my life in ways I never could have imagined. I am forever grateful for all the time and effort they spent on me and for them preparing me for what ever life, or a race, throws at me.
What are your college plans?
Brigham Young University! So stoked to join the cougar club. The girls I got recruited with are already my greatest friends. I can't wait to see what the future holds.
Who would you like to say 'thank you' to?
Huge thanks to my parents for giving me every opportunity to fulfill my dreams, and my coach for believing in me and helping me reach my potential, and of course my grandparents for being my #1 fans. I also want to say thank you to my aunts for being my loudest cheerleaders, and Hadley and Alyssa for being the greatest teammates.
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
Quick shoutout to my bffs Conner, Bruce, Kael, and Braden
