Utah 4A Champion Ryan Raff Chooses NAU

One of Utah's best distance runners has chosen to continue his career at one of the nation's best collegiate programs, Northern Arizona University.

The current No. 1 team on the FloXC national rankings and last year's NCAA champion Lumberjacks have picked up a major threat in Lehi senior Ryan Raff, who in October won the Class 4A cross country championship in a time of 14:59.60.

Raff is ranked No. 8 on the Flo50 boys national rankings. He can sign his National Letter of Intent beginning tomorrow, Wednesday, November 8, up until November 15.

The cross country title was Raff's first over his high school career, but he's racked up solid PBs of 4:15.87 in the 1600m, 8:58.76 in the 3200m, and 14:23.70 at 3-miles.

The distance talent has been nearly unbeatable in cross country, winning all but one race at 3-miles and all three of his efforts at 5K. He ran 15:11.20 at the Bob Firman Invitational, winning the noted event at elevation in Idaho.

Raff will join a program that has its eyes on winning its second straight NCAA championship on November 18 in Louisville, Kentucky.
