USU Indoor Meet

Athletes travelled to Utah State University to compete at the George Nelson Field House. The first meet in largely the most complete indoor track and field season in Utah State prep history top athletes produced impressive season starting performances.
Among top performers were Matthew Green of Bingham who cruised to an impressive 7.19, 60 meter dash victory. Missing in the final was Ryan Avery of Davis who cruised to a qualifying mark of 6.98 to win heat 10 but was not present in the final.
Davis Dart Seth Gutzwiller ran a superb 1600m victory in 4:35.8, an impressive early season performance over the tight cornered 200m track. On the girls side Davis senior and state champion Candace Eddy breezed to a 5:22.8 1600m victory.
The surprise performance came from Box Elder standout Braden Perry who ran unmatched over the 3200m in an impressive 10:10.5, winning by almost a minute. Look for a strong breakout season from the sophomore Perry as he looks to continue to impress upon his stellar cross country season. In the jumps, Alec Pectal of Davis soared to a 6'4" victory in the men's high jump.
