McKay, only a sophomore, had an incredible showing at the Alpha Invitational where he took the victory in the 1600m in a state leading time of 4:14.90. This ranks him second in the nation among sophomore boys for the four lap race. Johns has had quite the devlopment. His freshman outdoor season he finished 15th at the State Meet with a time of 4:23. He crushed that time indoor, running 4:18 at Simplot. With only two meets outdoors he's eclipsed that by four seconds putting himself among the best young milers in the country.
