On-Site at Utah High School State XC Championships

Jimmy gives you a course preview and analysis of the top athletes competing at the Utah XC State Championship at Sugar House Park today. Races go from 1:00-5:30pm (Eastern Time). Follow @MileSplit on Twitter for live updates.

MileSplit US is on-site with video (interviews & race footage) and photo coverage from Wednesday's Utah High School State Cross Country Championships at Sugarhouse Park in Salt Lake City.

The meet has significant national implications and interests with returning Foot Locker finalists and Saucony Flo50 ranked individuals Conner Mantz (Sky View) and Lucy Biles (Herriman) as two top runners in the meet, but being chased by many other national class runners found within their state. The US #3 ranked Mantz already has run 14:32 earlier this season on the 3 mile course at Sugarhouse Park and is ready to repeat as 5A state champ in Utah.

Meanwhile, the US #18 ranked Biles should see a tough race from Davis sophomore Aubrey Argyle and another 2013 Foot Locker finalist in Marlee Mitchell of Bingham. Biles is attempting to reach double digits in her overall high school career haul of state titles between cross country and track and become a four-time straight state champion in cross country. Park City's Alyssa Snyder will try to match the time run by Biles or the eventual 5A race winner as the favorite in the 3A girls division.

In the 5A boys race which Mantz will be favored to win individually, the team battle is highly anticipated between the US #2 American Fork and US #6 Davis boys racing against each other for the first time this season. Another US top 10 ranked squad in Timpanagos will be the clear cut favorites in the 4A race.

Both Davis and American Fork are also expected to be competing for first in the 5A girls race with the roles of favorite and slight underdog reversed with the US #7 Davis girls as the front runners over the US #17 American Fork girls.
